Congratulations to Michael McBrayer and DJO for receiving the PFF Distinguished Service Award! The BOD of the Foundation is grateful for almost 2 decades of support for our goals!
The Patellofemoral Foundation was proud to again support the 20th International Sports Medicine Fellows conference held in Carlsbad, CA on February 7-8, 2020. The meeting celebrated the highest number of registrants and support from industry with guidance from Chairs of the event, Bert Mandelbaum, MD and Ralph Gambardella, MD. Saturday’s agenda was focused on the patellofemoral joint and featured presentations from PFF president and vice-president, John Fulkerson, MD and Jack Farr II, MD. The balance of the lectures were presented by IPSG members Christian Latterman, MD, Marc Tompkins, MD, Seth Sherman, MD (Program Co-Chair), Andreas Gomoll, MD, and Sabrina Strickland, MD. Surgical demonstrations followed the lectures and the meeting participants were then able to transition into a “hands-on” workshop hosted by the speakers.

A Tribute and Thank you to the Patellofemoral Foundation Executive Director Eric Dahlinger Eric Dahlinger was one of the four founders of the Patellofemoral Foundation in 2003, along with Ivan Lendl, Peter Jokl, and John Fulkerson. After serving on the board and developing the foundation, he was appointed unanimously by the Board to be Executive Director of the Foundation based on his loyal hard work, experience, commitment and outstanding leadership skills. He has played and continues to play a major critical role in the successes of the Patellofemoral Foundation. He is well loved by many, especially those who work with him on the Board. Written by Sheanna Maine, MD Mauro Núñez, MD Regardless of our background, place of training or experience, we all have a common goal, to be able to offer our patients the best in terms of diagnostic certainty, timely and adequate treatment to improve their quality of life. Fellowship programs serve this purpose by seeking expertise in a specific area within our specialty. These programs have shown their value by significantly shortening the learning curve of those who have studied them. While this holds true for established academic programs that usually last for a period of one year, we did not know exactly what to expect from a Traveling Fellowship, much less what the similarities might be, nor the dissimilar areas in comparison to a formal academic programs. PFTF 2017-2019 Our itinerary included 2 continents, three countries and 5 centers, visited over 4 weeks. We started with a week-long visit to Minneapolis, Minnesota with Dr. Elizabeth Arendt, followed by a flying visit to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, with Dr Andrew Cosgarea and Dr Miho Tanaka. In that same [...]
