Dr. Cosgarea is the Drew Family Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University. His research interests include patellofemoral kinematics and the surgical treatment of recurrent patellar instability. He has authored over 150 scientific articles and chapters, many involving knee biomechanics and patellofemoral surgery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Cosgarea has been Head Team Physician for the Johns Hopkins University Athletic Department since 1998, and was an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Team from 2000-2010.
