Dr. Kuroda is a Professor & Chairman of Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been appointed an associate editor of the Knee Surgery Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopy Journal. He was selected for the Patellofemoral travelling fellowship of ISAKOS (the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthpaedic Sports Medicine) in 2007, as well as the traveling fellowship of APOSSM (Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine) and ESSKA (European Society of Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) in 2010. His research work focuses on biology and biomechanics of the knee joint, including patellofemoral joint disorders. He has been a member of the ISAKOS Board of Directors since 2013, and a member of the strategic committee since 2015. Furthermore, he has been the education committee member of APKASS (Asia-Pacific Knee, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Society) since 2014, and the member at large of ACL Study Group since 2016. He has been team doctor for Vissel Kobe (Japanese division 1 soccer league), Orix Buffaloes (Japanese division 1 baseball league), and Kobelco Steelers (Japanese division 1 rugby league).
