A Global Success: Patellofemoral Course in Santiago Brings Experts and Learners Together

The Patellofemoral Foundation, in collaboration with ISAKOS, was proud to co-sponsor the second international course on patellofemoral pathology in Santiago, Chile. The Advanced Patellofemoral Surgery Workshop brought together world-class expertise, hands-on learning, and meaningful cross-border collaboration.

Held on July 24–25, 2025, at the Noxis research laboratory at Clínica Meds, the course drew more than 150 participants eager to deepen their understanding of patellofemoral joint disorders, conditions that remain a constant and complex challenge within orthopedic surgery.

Under the direction of Dr. Magaly Iniguez, the course featured a robust ensemble of speakers. The lineup included internationally recognized leaders like Professor Laurie Hiemstra (Canada), Professor David Figueroa (Chile), Professor Jaime Duboy (Chile), Professor Philippe Neyret (France), and several other esteemed faculty members. Their contributions created a dynamic environment that balanced cutting-edge theory with immersive hands-on practice.

The program was designed specifically for specialists, offering an in-depth exploration of the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of patellofemoral pathologies. With lectures, discussions, and cadaveric labs, participants were able to refine their surgical skills while engaging directly with both national and international experts.

The Patellofemoral Foundation is proud to support initiatives like this one, which foster innovation, skill-building, and the exchange of knowledge across borders. As we continue our mission to improve outcomes for those affected by patellofemoral conditions, events like the Santiago course play a critical role in driving progress forward.
