Dr. Andrew Cosgarea is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University and holder of the Drew Family Professorship in honor of Alec J. Cosgarea. He has been the Head Team Physician for the Johns Hopkins University Athletic Department since 2000, and was an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Baltimore Orioles Major League Baseball Team from 2000-2010. Dr. Cosgarea is involved in research studying knee kinematics, arthroscopy education, knee physical examination and the surgical treatment of recurrent patellar instability, and has lectured extensively on these topics. He is the author or co-author of over 100 scientific articles, 40 chapters and 2 textbooks. He is on the Board of Directors of the Patellofemoral Foundation, is a previous AOSSM Treasurer and Board member, and is an active member of AAOS, AANA, IPSG, ISAKOS and the Herodicus Society.
