Dr. Farr is a retired orthopaedic surgeon based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the Medical Director of the Cartilage Restoration Center of Indiana, a board member of the Cartilage Research Foundation, general board member of the International Cartilage Repair Society and Voluntary Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is the treasurer of the International Patellofemoral Study Group and is the fellowship director for the OrthoIndy sports medicine fellowship. He is active in clinical investigation of new cartilage restoration and knee technology and has special interest in their applications in the patellofemoral compartment. He lectures nationally and internationally on patellofemoral and cartilage topics, as well as publishing in this area, both in journals and books.
