Miho J. Tanaka, MD PhD Joins the PFF Board of Directors

After a unanimous vote, the Patellofemoral Foundation is honored to welcome Miho J. Tanaka, MD PhD, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Tanaka is a sports medicine surgeon and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School, recognized for her research in patellofemoral disorders and gender-based differences in orthopaedic injuries. She is the Founding Director of the Women’s Sports Medicine Program at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She has authored more than 150 articles and book chapters with a significant emphasis on the patellofemoral joint. Most notably her work focuses on the surgical anatomy and biomechanics of the medial patellofemoral complex, as well as dynamic imaging of the patellofemoral joint. Dr. Tanaka currently serves as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Women’s Sports Medicine and as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Sports Medicine. She is a team physician for the Boston Red Sox and is the Chief Medical Officer for the New England Revolution MLS Soccer team. Her arrival brings deep clinical and scholarly expertise to an organization dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of patellofemoral conditions.
